Sorry there hasn't been many posts lately, internet problems, but I just wanted to say that my post 'Dubstep Poem' has got 200 hundred views. Now that doesn't sound like very much, but its 10 times any other posts. Goodbye.

iPad 3 - Its not as good as anyone hoped

So the new iPad 3 came out yesterday (sorry for the lack of post,  computer problems) and it seems that its no where near as good as I hoped. Although it does have the A5X chip for better graphics, a 5 megapixel camera, 3,100,000 pixels, which is 4 times more than iPad 2. The pixels are so small and tightly crammed in that the human eye can't even recognise them. Thats the koolest thing about it, even though it looks almost identical to the iPad 2. Conclusion: Thanks a lot Apple. You really ripped us off this time.

Lego Space Shuttle Launch

What did you do when NASA announced they were going to retire all manned space shuttles? Cry? Eat? Well YouTuber vinciverse created a tribute to all the retired crafts by strapping the Lego Spacecraft 3367 (and a camera) onto a weather balloon and launching it upwards. Into space. While it didn't quite reach 'space' as such, it did get to almost 34 km up. Top effort.

Dione

NASA's Cassini space craft has detected a thin layer of oxygen around Saturn's icy moon, Dione. Although there's not enough oxygen for it to qualify as an atmosphere, it lends to the theory that the moons around the gas giants (Jupiter and Saturn). 

Even thought Dione cannot support due to the lack of liquid water, NASA is know looking more closely at the moons that do.

Star Wars Crayons

Esty seller extramoneyformommy has created these crayons in the shape of Han Solo frozen in Carbonite. They come in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown and black and are made of 100% non-toxic Crayola crayons. If you're not a fan of Han (who isn't?) the same set of colours are available in R2-D2, Yoda and Darth Vader's mask. I only have one problem with the Han Solo set, there may be lots of colours, but there's not carbonite grey.

iPad 3 Concept Features

Note: Its called a concept for a reason, so don't get angry if it doesn't happen

Here's a video by Aatma Studio, best known for their futuristic iPhone 5 concept, has just released this iPad 3 concept video, featuring all the rumored differences between iPad 3, and iPads 1 and 2.

Sadly, considering the release date for the new iPad is March 7, I doubt they will be able to add the feature magnets, let alone the holograms. Yes I said holograms. Just watch the video.

True: Mari0 (Super Mario Bros/ Portal mash up) is finally available for download from stabyourself.net, a site best known for its randomness. I would highly recommend downloading this one as it is probably one of the best fan made Mario/Portal games out at the moment.

This automatic cupcake machine (inspired by Beverly-Hills) dispenses freshly baked cupcakes, cupcake mixes,  and even cupcakes for Fido!  24 Hour Sprinkles will be continuously restocked day and night with a variety of freshly baked cupcake flavors. I only wish I had one of these in my bedroom.

Bioprinting

Please please PLEASE watch this video. At first I was a bit reluctant to, but after finally watching it I found it amazing. It explains the new concept of Bioprinting, a way of artificially creating organs and veins. It's truly  amazing. Feel free to skip the first minute or so thought, its kind of boring.

Today, February 29th is the Australian comedian Frank Woodley's birthday. Frank was born in 1968 making him 11 today, and is best known for his work with comedian Colin Lane, in their duo 'Lano and Woodley', which ran for nearly 20 years through television and songs. After the group split up in 2006, Frank continued to make people laugh in his solo shows all over the world. Happy 11th birthday

Doctor Who?

This is probably one of the koolest things out at the moment. Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Dr Who Monopoly. I'm pretty sure it doesn't get much more awesome than that. At only $33.70, (not including postage from UK) this "very special 50th Anniversary Doctor Who Monopoly features all your favourite heroes, villains, monsters, planets and places." It was not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is certainly mine, and can be found here. PS Watch out, as the picture says there is only 5000, so order now!

Google Sea View

Because Google is so poor and needs lots more money (sarcasm if you didn't pick it up), they are teaming up with Australia’s University of Queensland and insurance firm Catlin to create Google Sea

View. 

Using special vehicles (pictured above) equiped with 360 degree view cameras will pick up nearly 300ft of reef, at up to 90ft deep, and whats more, some of the photography will be done by robots. Nice one Google. I take my hat off to you.

Death Star over Copenhagen

It’s the Death Star floating over Copenhagen in a new Toys R’ Us ad from Mike Horn, best known for his 2008 video of the Galactic Empire coexisting with the citizens of San Francisco.

This new ad promotes a guest appearance by Darth Vader at a Danish Toys R’ Us store this month, I only wish I could be there.

Lego Video Game Montage (2012 Interactive Achievement Awards Opening)

 

This animation was created by Alex Kobbs for the opening of the 15th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards, which was held during the 2012 DICE Conference in Las Vegas, NV. The film was projected onto 3 giant stage screens to an audience of roughly 700 individuals, most of whom were/are leaders in the video game industry. The animation shows Portal , Battle Field 3, Modern Warfare 3, Minecraft, Legend of Zelda, Batman, Assassin's Creed, Halo, Star Wars, Skyrim, and a whole bunch of other awesome games.

So today I was talking to a few of my nerd friends about Star Trek, and how amazing it was that there was a whole language made up for it (Its called 'Klingon'). One of my non-nerd friends herd this and casually asked me 'what's Klingon? is it like a kind of glad wrap?'. Gotta love idiots.

So I put up a new poll asking 'Do you believe in God?' with answers 'yes' 'no' and 'maybe'. And the strangest thing happened. Somebody clicked yes. WHY OH WHY doesn't anyone get it? there are so many reasons God doesn't exist, but they don't listen. Even if I make some sort of Old Man Rant,

The devil opened up his case and he said: "I'll start this show."
And fire flew from his fingertips as he rosined up his bow.
And he pulled the bow across his strings and it made an evil hiss.
Then a band of demons joined in and it sounded something like this.
When the devil finished, Johnny said: "Well you're pretty good ol' son.
"But sit down in that chair, right there, and let me show you how its done."

The devil's in the house of the risin' sun.
Chicken in the bread pan, pickin' out dough.
"Granny, does your dog bite?"
"No, child, no."

The devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat.
He laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet.
